Jennifer Barr Herrington

Jennifer Barr Herrington is currently in her 24th year of teaching elementary music and remains passionate about inspiring young musicians. She teaches 5th and 6th grade chorus, where students develop skills in treble and bass clef note reading, sight-reading, rhythm performance, solfege, rounds, partner songs, and introductory harmony.

Under her direction, students have proudly performed both O Canada and The Star-Spangled Banner at Pittsburgh Penguins and Pittsburgh Pirates games. Jennifer has hosted the WCMEA 5th and 6th Grade County Chorus Festival twice, welcoming renowned music educator John Jacobson as guest conductor, and was later honored to serve as guest conductor.

Jennifer was recognized as her school's Outstanding Educator of the Year during the 2025-2026 school year. A dedicated lifelong learner, she has attended summer music workshops for the past 20 years and regularly participates in professional development webinars, continually seeking new ideas and inspiration to bring back to her students and colleagues.
