Accessible To All Levels of Experience

Do I need to be an experienced music teacher to attend this conference?

  • Not at all! Educators at any level of experience will find ideas and strategies to bring back to their music classes.

Do I need to know anything about Musicplay or MusicplayOnline?

  • No! This symposium is sponsored by Musicplay but it's an independent event. There are five internationally known clinicians all presenting clinics in the topics of their choice. Very diverse topics and lots of different teaching approaches! You don't need any prior experience with online settings to come and enjoy the live event. The group will be teachers from around the country and clinicians who have planned a wealth of lessons to share.

Is there anything I need to bring with me?

We want you to have the best experience possible! We will have instruments, props, and more available to use during the sessions, but we recommend bringing the following to ensure everyone can participate!

  • Ukulele (if possible)
  • Recorder
  • Boomwhacker (1 note)
  • Rhythm sticks
  • A water bottle
  • Good shoes

How can I watch the recorded sessions?

  • If you are attending the free in-person sessions, you can register for recorded access at the event! This will give you access to the recordings until August 1, 2027 and you can watch and review as many times as you want! This add on is available for $100.
  • If you are attending the livestream, recorded access is included in your registration! You will have access to the recordings until August 1, 2027.

Additional Professional Development credit?

ILMEA

  • Illinois educators wishing to get PD credit will need to sign in prior to or at the beginning of the first session of each day, and then sign out at the end of the final PD session of the day. Please note: we cannot offer partial credit hours, so please note that any Illinois educators wishing to receive certified PD must be in attendance for the entirety of all PD sessions for that day.
  • The sign-out form includes a brief evaluation. Upon completion of the evaluation they will receive the link to download their PD certificate. As a reminder, educators will need to provide personal information such as their name, email, IEIN (Illinois Educator Identification Number).

LOVE it! I learn so much and am inspired and encouraged. Many years ago when I first started teaching and lived in FL, I attended several Artie workshops and always came away with ideas and lessons and a smile on my face.
